World Vegetarian Day is observed every year on October 1.This day was endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978, “To promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism.” This day is celebrated to create awareness about the benefits of vegetarian lifestyle and motivate others to become vegetarian.
A vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat and eats diet filled with fruits and vegetables, the food items that come from plants.
Different people have different reasons to adopt vegetarian lifestyle. Some people firmly believe in not killing animals for their appetite.
