The Battle of Longewala was fought in December 1971 between India and Pakistan. Fighting from India were just 120 Indian Soldier with 1 Jeep mounted on M40 recoilless rifle against 2,000 Pakistani Soldiers backed by 45 Tanks and 1 Mobile Infantry Brigade.
The Battle of Longewala was depicted in the 1997 Bollywood Hindi film Border. The movie exaggerated the casualties of Indian soldiers.This was not the case in reality, as there were only two jawan casualties from Indian side.
Irrespective of the fact that Indian Army was smaller as compared to Pakistani side, Indian Soldiers fought whole night and were able to defend their post with the help of Indian Air force.
